My baby was born one month prematurely, and I’m unsure which formula to feed him/her. I feel the baby’s digestion isn’t very good either—what formula is suitable for premature infants?

For premature infants, it is best to select infant formula whose nutritional composition closely resembles that of breast milk. Such formulas are more easily digested and absorbed by the baby and retain many of the advantages of breast milk proteins, thereby significantly reducing the burden on the infant’s immature digestive system. Premature infants have relatively underdeveloped gastrointestinal tracts; inappropriate formula selection may lead to constipation or gastrointestinal discomfort.
