What should I do for severe cramps in the inner thigh?
Disease description:
My mother has been experiencing leg cramps for several consecutive days, especially when climbing stairs. What should we do about severe cramping in the inner thigh?
Cramps in the inner thigh are commonly caused by calcium deficiency but may also result from improper exertion—such as when climbing stairs—or other factors. Exposure to cold temperatures can also trigger muscle cramps. Additionally, such cramps may reflect heightened neuromuscular excitability. Appropriate massage and avoidance of known precipitating factors are recommended. Relevant medical examinations should be performed; if calcium deficiency is confirmed as the underlying cause, calcium supplementation is indicated. Maintaining warmth is essential—especially during winter, when appropriate additional clothing should be worn.
