In the late stage of renal insufficiency, the incidence of uremic pericarditis can reach as high as 50%. Cerebral hemorrhage-associated pericarditis is often fibrinous and accompanied by bloody pericardial effusion. In fact, this condition is primarily caused by stimulation from uremic toxins, malnutrition, immunosuppression, and bacterial or viral infections. Treatment typically requires dialysis to improve renal function, along with aggressive management of heart failure. If cardiac tamponade develops, emergency pericardiocentesis is necessary.
