Is a body temperature of 37°C considered a fever?
Disease description:
This morning, I took my temperature and it read 37°C. However, I feel no discomfort whatsoever. Does a temperature of 37°C constitute a fever?
A temperature of 37°C is not actually considered a fever. There are three common methods for measuring body temperature in healthy individuals: axillary (underarm), oral, and rectal. The most commonly used method is axillary temperature measurement. Normal human body temperature ranges around 36°C, and the normal axillary temperature is approximately 37°C. However, body temperature naturally fluctuates over a 24-hour period—for example, it tends to be lower in the morning and higher in the afternoon—typically varying within a narrow range.
