Etiology of Postrenal Acute Kidney Injury
Disease description:
Recently, I was diagnosed with post-renal acute kidney injury at the hospital. What are the causes of post-renal acute kidney injury?
Post-renal renal failure has numerous and relatively common causes, most frequently resulting from urinary tract obstruction leading to hydronephrosis—for example, ureteral calculi or neoplastic lesions that impair urinary outflow, thereby causing progressive decline in renal function. Therefore, the primary treatment for patients with post-renal renal failure is prompt surgical intervention to restore urinary tract patency.
