Can sexually transmitted infections (STIs) be cured?
Disease description:
I have a friend who, after contracting a sexually transmitted infection (STI), has been acting completely different—saying his life is over. Could you please tell me whether STIs can be cured?
There are many types of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and not all STIs can be cured. Generally, STIs caused by bacteria, chlamydia, or mycoplasma can usually be cured through standardized antibiotic treatment. However, viral STIs—such as genital warts, genital herpes, and HIV/AIDS—are extremely difficult to cure; treatment is limited to alleviating associated symptoms with medications.
