What should I do if I develop itchy red bumps on my body that resemble mosquito bites?
Disease description:
I am 20 years old this year. Recently, I’ve noticed numerous pimples appearing on my body—red, swollen, and itchy, resembling mosquito bites. I’d like to know what to do about these itchy, red bumps that look like mosquito bites.
This may be caused by insect bites. For instance, if you keep pets at home, you should take them to a pet clinic for pest control. Bedding, sheets, undergarments, and towels should be washed in hot water and dried thoroughly in direct sunlight to eliminate insects. If red patches persist on the skin after completing these measures, the condition is likely urticaria (hives). In such cases, allergy testing—including patch testing—should be performed to identify potential triggers. Once the cause is identified, steps must be taken to prevent recurrence. During meals, avoid spicy and irritating foods and limit alcohol consumption. Additionally, avoid using excessively hot water on the affected areas and refrain from vigorous scratching with your hands to prevent secondary skin infection.
