What should I do about folliculitis on the eyebrows?
Disease description:
Recently, several bumps have appeared on my eyebrows. My doctor diagnosed them as folliculitis. What should I do about folliculitis affecting the eyebrow area?
Folliculitis around the eyebrows can be alleviated with antimicrobial and antipruritic medications. Commonly used oral agents include vitamin B complex and roxithromycin capsules. Topical anti-inflammatory ointments—such as erythromycin ointment—may also be applied directly to the affected follicles. When folliculitis occurs, it is advisable to avoid wearing makeup, smoking, and consuming alcohol; additionally, spicy or irritating foods should be avoided.
