What Are the Causes of Fungal Infections in Men?
Disease description:
My colleague has a fungal infection, which causes dryness and peeling of the genital skin. What are the common causes of fungal infections in men?
After a fungal infection in men, dryness and peeling of the genital skin may occur, and severe cases may be accompanied by pain. In some patients—particularly those with compromised immunity—fever may also develop. Treatment for fungal infections should be conducted under a physician’s guidance, typically using antifungal medications such as fluconazole. If a male patient’s sexual partner has candidal vaginitis, both partners should undergo concurrent treatment; sexual activity may be resumed only after both have fully recovered.
