Large flakes of dandruff frequently appear on the scalp.
Disease description:
Recently, I’ve noticed an unusually large amount of dandruff on my scalp—particularly large flakes. What causes large, flaky patches of dandruff on the scalp?
Frequent large flakes of dandruff on the scalp may result from excessive sebum production, leading to localized seborrheic dermatitis. Additionally, if the scalp is affected by psoriasis, it may also cause large-scale dandruff. Regularly perming or dyeing hair and using chemical products in daily life may trigger allergic contact dermatitis of the scalp, which can likewise lead to large dandruff flakes.
