What should I do if my anus feels a burning, painful sensation?
Disease description:
My anus has been hurting severely for the past two days—burning intensely—making it difficult to sit or stand comfortably. I’m extremely distressed! What should I do about this intense burning pain in my anus?
The anus feels a burning, sharp pain. If this is caused by acute diarrhea, treatment typically involves taking antidiarrheal medications—such as smectite powder or compound difenoxin—under a physician’s guidance. Additionally, topical application of erythromycin ointment to the perianal area may be used. If the patient also has anal canal inflammation or proctitis, metronidazole suppositories may be prescribed per medical advice, or traditional Chinese medicine enemas may be administered. In daily life, maintain a light, bland diet and avoid spicy or irritating foods to prevent worsening of symptoms.
