Potassium permanganate powder is used to treat hemorrhoids by diluting it in water at a ratio of 1:5000. Once the solution turns light pink, a sitz bath can be performed to allow the medicated steam to reach the anal area, thereby providing symptomatic relief. However, if hemorrhoid symptoms are severe, potassium permanganate alone may not produce significant improvement. In such cases, treatment under a physician’s guidance—such as oral administration of medications like Aescuven (aescin-based preparation)—may be necessary.
