Patients experiencing itching inside the ear require pharmacological treatment. If itching is the sole symptom, treatment with otic drops may be prescribed under a physician’s guidance, along with adjunctive antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory medications. In cases of fungal infection in the external auditory canal, the fungal lesions must first be thoroughly removed from the ear canal, followed by topical antifungal agents—such as Miconazole cream or salicylic acid ethanol otic solution—to eradicate and suppress the fungal growth.
