Why Does Nosebleeding Cause Headaches?
Disease description:
After waking up today, I experienced headache and nosebleed. Why does nosebleed cause headache?
This is typically caused by inflammation or other factors. The common cold is primarily caused by viral infection; infection of the mucosa in the upper respiratory tract stimulates the central nervous system, thereby causing headache. Infection of the upper respiratory mucosa leads to vasodilation in the nasal cavity, which can also result in headache and epistaxis (nosebleeds). Additionally, hypertension can cause generalized vasodilation, including dilation of nasal blood vessels.
