Anal itching and bleeding may be caused by the following conditions:
1. Hemorrhoids
2. Anal fistula
3. Proctitis
4. Crohn’s disease
If the symptoms are due to hemorrhoids, topical application of compound sodium alginate ointment—as prescribed by a physician—may help alleviate symptoms.
If caused by an anal fistula, surgical excision (fistulectomy) is typically indicated.
