Duodenal ulcer refers to inflammatory defects in the duodenal mucosa resulting from digestion by gastric juice, and it is a common type of peptic ulcer in clinical practice. The disease primarily arises from excessive gastric acid secretion, Helicobacter pylori infection, or weakened defensive function of the duodenal mucosa, leading to digestion and erosion of the mucosa by gastric acid in the gastric juice, thereby causing localized ulcerative lesions.
