Disease description:

I didn't warm up properly before the physical fitness test, and afterward my body felt a bit sore. How can I tell whether I've pulled a muscle?

Dr. Lin Yunfei
After exercise, if muscles are injured, the affected area may become hard, tight, and painful. Continuing physical activity will increase the pain. A cord-like hard lump can often be felt upon touching the area. The patient should stop all activities and ideally rest in bed, applying a cold towel or ice pack to the affected area for local cooling within the first 24 hours.
