Secondary amenorrhea is caused by factors such as premature ovarian failure and high levels of psychological stress. The causes are relatively complex, primarily including hypothalamic amenorrhea, ovarian amenorrhea, uterine amenorrhea, and underdevelopment of the lower reproductive tract. Emotional suppression, anxiety, excessive fatigue, and weight loss can also lead to amenorrhea. Organic lesions or functional disorders of the adenohypophysis can affect the secretion of gonadotropins, resulting in amenorrhea.
