Differences between growing pains and leg pain caused by leukemia
Disease description:
Recently, I've been feeling leg pain frequently—could it be leukemia, or is it just due to rapid growth? What are the differences between growing pains and leg pain caused by leukemia?
There are differences between growing pains and leukemia-related leg pain in terms of causes, symptoms, and characteristics. Leg pain from growing pains typically becomes apparent after intense physical activity and occurs during periods of rapid height growth. The pain is especially noticeable at night and is not accompanied by other symptoms. In contrast, leukemia-related pain has no specific location, is uneven, severe, and long-lasting, and may be associated with redness, swelling, fever, anemia, and pallor. Patients may also experience varying degrees of bleeding from the nasal mucosa, mouth, gums, and skin.
