Can high blood pressure cause facial flushing?
Disease description:
A friend of mine has high blood pressure. When I saw him today, I noticed his face was very red, so I'd like to ask: can high blood pressure cause facial flushing?
Hypertension generally presents with facial flushing. If a patient has chronically elevated blood pressure, it can affect the blood vessels—for example, increased capillary tension due to hypertension may lead to facial redness. Additionally, if hypertension is accompanied by other conditions such as heart valve disease or mitral stenosis, facial flushing commonly occurs as well.
