Why ovarian cysts after miscarriage
Disease description:
Last month, I accidentally suffered a bump that led to a miscarriage. Recently, I've been feeling abdominal discomfort, and after an examination, I was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst. Why did I develop an ovarian cyst after a miscarriage?
Ovarian cysts that occur after miscarriage are generally caused by stimulation from estrogen and progesterone, pelvic inflammatory irritation, or endometriosis. During pregnancy, the secretion of estrogen and progesterone significantly increases, repeatedly stimulating the ovaries and potentially leading to physiological ovarian cysts. If cysts appear after a miscarriage, they can be detected via B-ultrasound or color Doppler ultrasound. If improper procedures during the miscarriage cause uterine injury, or if poor post-miscarriage care allows bacterial invasion, pelvic inflammatory disease may develop, leading to ovarian inflammation. This condition may also cause abdominal pain and requires anti-inflammatory treatment.
