1. Keep the anal area clean by washing with warm water, then gently pat dry with a clean towel.
2. Squeeze an appropriate amount of hemorrhoid ointment onto your fingertip and gently apply it to the affected area around the anus.
3. Gently press with your finger to help the medication fully penetrate the skin.
Note that when using hemorrhoid ointment, you should follow your doctor's instructions and adhere to the dosage and application directions provided in the drug’s package insert.
