Can hepatitis be completely cured?
I have hepatitis and have been staying in the hospital recently. Doctor, can hepatitis be completely cured?
Most hepatitis patients can be cured, but certain viral forms such as hepatitis B may lack specific curative treatments and can only be managed by controlling disease progression and symptoms. Hepatitis is a broad term that encompasses various types. Conditions that are relatively easier to treat include hepatitis A, C, and E among viral hepatitis, as well as alcoholic hepatitis, fatty liver hepatitis, and drug-induced hepatitis. With proper treatment, these types can often be completely cured.
However, some forms of hepatitis remain difficult to treat in clinical practice, such as chronic hepatitis B and autoimmune hepatitis. There are currently no established short-term cures for these conditions, and most patients require long-term therapy, with treatment outcomes still unsatisfactory in some cases. Therefore, the treatment efficacy and prognosis of hepatitis are closely related to the specific type of hepatitis.
