Disease description:

Recently, I’m not sure what’s wrong with my body, but I’ve started developing tinea (fungal infection) on my face. Several patches of skin on my face have turned white, and they look quite unsightly. I’m worried that even after successful treatment, scarring might remain. Could you please advise on how to manage facial tinea?

Hello, facial ringworm is also caused by skin disorders. Numerous factors can contribute to its development; therefore, identifying and addressing the underlying cause is essential during treatment. For facial ringworm, topical antifungal medications are typically prescribed—note that antifungal (not antibacterial) agents are used, as ringworm is a fungal infection. Additionally, maintaining proper skin hygiene can help alleviate symptoms. I hope this information is helpful to you. Wishing you good health!
