Anemia and dizziness: what disease is this?
Disease description:
Recently, I have been constantly feeling dizzy, nauseous, and like vomiting. I also have severe anemia. Normally, when I stand up after squatting for a short while, everything suddenly goes black before my eyes. Could you please tell me what disease could cause severe anemia accompanied by dizziness?
Anemia accompanied by dizziness may be a manifestation of various diseases, summarized as follows:
1. Iron-deficiency anemia: Caused by iron deficiency leading to decreased quantity and quality of red blood cells.
Megaloblastic anemia: May be caused by deficiencies of vitamin B12 or folic acid.
2. Aplastic anemia: Anemia resulting from reduced bone marrow hematopoietic function.
3. Hematologic malignancies: Such as acute leukemia, chronic leukemia, which can also cause anemia.
4. Other symptoms: In addition to dizziness, patients with anemia may experience headaches, tinnitus, visual disturbances, palpitations, and chest tightness.
5. Diagnosis and treatment: Patients experiencing such symptoms are advised to visit the hematology department of a hospital for detailed examinations, and to follow medical advice for appropriate treatment once the underlying cause is identified.
