What is xerotic eczema?

Xerosis eczema, also known as dry eczema or asteatotic eczema, is a type of eczema characterized clinically by dry, cracked skin. The primary causes include insufficient sebum production from sebaceous glands, inadequate skin hydration, and potentially不良护肤习惯 (poor skincare habits), 干燥的环境气候 (dry environmental climate), and irritation from physical or chemical factors. Affected skin in patients often appears dry, cracked, pale red in color, with attached scales, accompanied by itching. In severe cases, inflammatory erythema and epidermal desquamation may occur.
