Why is there redness after the scab from shingles falls off?

After the scabs of herpes zoster fall off, redness of the skin might be caused by multiple factors. Usually, this is a normal phenomenon during the skin's recovery process, where the new skin has not fully developed. Over time, the skin color will naturally return to normal, and no special treatment is required. It could also be caused by mild skin inflammation. During the recovery period, even after the scabs have fallen off, skin redness might persist if there is local inflammation present.
