How to treat papular urticaria?
My skin condition has flared up again recently; I would like to know how to treat papular urticaria.
Papular urticaria, also known as acute urticaria or hives, is a common allergic skin reaction, typically presenting as red, itchy papules or plaques. The treatment of papular urticaria mainly aims to relieve symptoms and control underlying allergens.
1. Avoid allergens: Try to identify and avoid potential allergens that may trigger urticaria, such as certain foods, medications, insect bites, or environmental factors.
2. Antihistamines: Over-the-counter antihistamines, such as cetirizine and loratadine, can effectively reduce itching and swelling. If symptoms are severe, a doctor may prescribe stronger antihistamine medications.
3. Topical treatments: Choose medications with anti-itch and anti-inflammatory effects, such as 1% menthol calamine lotion or corticosteroid creams. These medications can effectively relieve itching and prevent further spread of urticaria.
4. General care: Avoid hot water stimulation, limit protein intake, especially soy products and eggs. Additionally, maintain clean living environments and personal hygiene to prevent insect infestations.
During treatment, patients should follow medical advice, take medications as prescribed, and pay attention to diet and lifestyle habits.
