Pain in the anus after bowel movements can be caused by various factors, with the most common ones including:

1. Anal fissure: An anal fissure is a tear in the skin or mucous membrane of the anus, often caused by the passage of hard stool, leading to severe pain during defecation, sometimes accompanied by bleeding.

2. Hemorrhoids: Hemorrhoids refer to pathological dilation or thrombosis of the venous plexus around the anus and are classified as internal, external, or mixed hemorrhoids. When hemorrhoids become inflamed or the veins rupture, thrombosis may occur, causing severe localized anal pain. Additionally, prolapsed and incarcerated internal hemorrhoids or edema can also cause pain.

3. Poor diet and lifestyle habits: Unhealthy dietary habits such as excessive consumption of spicy foods, alcohol consumption, and reduced intake of fruits and vegetables, as well as unhealthy lifestyle habits such as prolonged sitting and lack of physical activity, can lead to dry stools, constipation, and other issues, which may subsequently trigger anal pain.

4. Anal sphincter spasm: Excessive tension or spasm of the anal sphincter muscles can also cause anal pain.

If anal pain occurs after bowel movements, it is recommended to seek medical attention promptly.
