Is it normal to lose hair every day?
Disease description:
I comb my hair every morning, and a lot of hair falls out. Is it normal to lose hair daily?
Daily hair shedding is a normal physiological metabolic process. Typically, losing up to 100 hairs per day is considered normal, as hair follows a natural growth cycle. In the absence of noticeable progressive thinning or severe alopecia areata, such shedding is regarded as a normal physiological phenomenon. However, if daily hair loss exceeds 100 hairs, the amount of shedding increases significantly, and persists over an extended period, it likely indicates a pathological condition causing hair loss. In such cases, hair transplantation surgery may help improve the condition.
