Dr. Li Ruizhi
Third-degree burns refer to the most severe classification of burn injuries. They typically involve necrosis of the skin, subcutaneous tissues, muscle, and even bone. Some patients may also develop dehydration, leading to eschar formation. In cases of severe burns, skin grafting—performed under a physician’s guidance—is often required. For even more extensive injuries, additional surgical interventions, such as debridement, may be necessary for wound reconstruction.
