Introduction
The skin is the largest organ of the human body, accounting for approximately 16% of total body weight, with an average surface area of about 1.5 square meters in adults. The skin consists of three layers: the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue. Skin thickness varies with age and body location, ranging from about 0.5 to 4 millimeters (excluding subcutaneous tissue). The skin is thinnest on the eyelids, genital area, breasts, and face, and thickest on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet.

With improvements in living standards, many women are paying more attention to skin care to enhance their appearance. Only with proper understanding can desired results be better achieved. So how should women correctly understand and care for their skin?

How Women Can Correctly Understand and Care for Their Skin

The skin is the largest organ of the human body, accounting for approximately 16% of body weight, with an average surface area of about 1.5 square meters in adults. The skin consists of three layers: the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue. Skin thickness varies by age and body location—excluding subcutaneous tissue—and typically ranges from 0.5 to 4 millimeters. The skin is thinnest on the eyelids, external genitalia, breasts, and face, and thickest on the palms and soles. The epidermis is primarily composed of keratinocytes and dendritic cells, and is divided into five layers from outside to inside. The outermost layer consists of fully keratinized, dehydrated, and dry keratinocytes that form the stratum corneum, which serves a protective function.

As a bodily organ, the skin is part of the whole body system. To maintain healthy skin, one must first focus on overall health: (1) Maintain a cheerful mood and open mindset, which plays a crucial role in preventing skin aging and achieving harmony within domestic and international living environments. (2) Consume sufficient and essential nutrients, maintain a varied diet, avoid picky eating, and eat more foods rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals. (3) Ensure adequate sleep, as skin renewal and respiration mainly occur between 10 PM and 2 AM. (4) Regularly engage in physical exercise to strengthen physical fitness.

Skin care should take overall health into account, while local skin care requires the proper use of skincare products. We hope this response has been helpful to you. Wishing you good health and happiness!
