Introduction
Synovitis is not bone degeneration. Knee synovitis does not cause knee osteoarthritis. Knee synovitis refers to inflammation of the synovial membrane caused by various stimuli that increase synovial secretion, leading to joint effusion, restricted joint movement, swelling, and pain. Knee osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease characterized by wear and tear of the articular cartilage.

Synovitis is caused by the following factors. When synovitis occurs, timely treatment is necessary. Causes include joint injuries or sprains, prolonged joint strain, and infections. Joint infections can also lead to synovitis. But is synovitis always due to bone degeneration?

Is synovitis always a result of bone degeneration?

Synovitis is not bone degeneration. Knee synovitis does not cause knee osteoarthritis. Knee synovitis refers to inflammation of the synovial membrane triggered by various stimuli that increase synovial fluid secretion, leading to joint effusion, restricted joint movement, swelling, and pain. In contrast, knee osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease characterized by cartilage wear, bone overgrowth (osteophytes), and subchondral bone sclerosis, reflecting natural aging of the knee joint itself.

Patients with synovitis should pay attention to their diet. They should avoid foods high in animal fat and cholesterol, as these may trigger or worsen joint pain, swelling, osteoporosis, and joint damage. Milk intake should be reduced to prevent allergic reactions that could exacerbate, trigger recurrence of, or worsen arthritis. Additionally, consumption of sweets, wine, and coffee should be limited. It is beneficial to consume foods rich in histidine, arginine, nucleic acids, and collagen, such as animal blood, eggs, beef, chicken, and similar protein sources.

In daily life, maintain a regulated diet, avoid spicy and irritating foods, overeating, and staying up late. We hope this information is helpful to you. Wishing you good health and a happy life.
