How to relieve headache after taking a cold shower
Headaches after taking a cold shower may be caused by neuralgia, chilling, colds, or other reasons. Symptoms can be relieved through保暖 (keeping warm), moderate exercise, medical treatment, and other methods.
1. Keeping warm: If only headache occurs after a cold shower without other physical discomfort, it might be neuralgia triggered by low-temperature stimulation from cold water. It is advisable to strengthen head and body warmth as recommended by a doctor. Symptoms may subside once body temperature stabilizes.
2. Moderate exercise: Engaging in appropriate physical activity can improve blood circulation, enhance brain cell activity, and increase overall body heat, thereby alleviating headaches induced by cold exposure. Additionally, it's recommended in daily life to avoid washing the body or hair with cold water and to dry the body promptly after bathing to prevent chilling.
3. Medical treatment: If symptoms persist despite keeping warm and exercising, or if additional symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, runny nose, or fever develop, it may indicate chilling or a cold. In such cases, timely medical consultation is advised. Under a doctor’s guidance, medications like acetaminophen granules or ibuprofen sustained-release capsules may be used to relieve symptoms.
