Introduction
There are no fast-acting drugs for treating heatstroke. If symptoms of heatstroke occur, medications such as Ren Dan, Shi Di Shui, and Liu Yi San can be taken orally; the effectiveness time varies depending on the specific medication. Ren Dan contains traditional ingredients like costus root, borneol, and cinnabar, which help relieve heatstroke; it can be administered by letting the patient dissolve it in the mouth or swallowing it with warm water. Shi Di Shui has analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory effects.

There are no fast-acting drugs for treating heatstroke. If symptoms of heatstroke occur, medications such as Ren Dan, Shi Di Shui, and Liu Yi San can be taken orally, with recovery time varying depending on the specific medication used.

1. Ren Dan

Ren Dan contains traditional ingredients such as wood incense, borneol, and cinnabar, which are effective for heatstroke. It can be administered by allowing the patient to dissolve it under the tongue or by swallowing it with warm water. Recovery usually occurs within about 3 days.

2. Shi Di Shui

Shi Di Shui contains licorice and other components that have anti-ulcer effects and inhibit gastrointestinal motility, providing analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory benefits. The rhubarb in Shi Di Shui helps clear heat and detoxify. Camphor contained in the formula relieves itching and pain and reduces skin redness. Recovery typically takes about 4 days.

3. Liu Yi San

During summer, people often experience symptoms such as thirst, irritability, and frequent yellowish urination. Liu Yi San is widely used in summer and can even be brewed as a tea to rapidly relieve heat and cool the body. Recovery generally occurs within 1–3 days.

In addition, Huoxiang Zhengqi Water may also be taken orally. If the patient develops chills during rapid cooling, intravenous infusion of normal saline combined with chlorpromazine can be administered. Blood pressure changes must be closely monitored during treatment, and all medication use should strictly follow medical instructions.
