Is Nuangong Bao really effective?
Wangong Bao (Warming Palace Patch) is effective to some extent in treating cold uterus syndrome.
Wangong Bao consists of a heat-generating pack, insulating gel, adhesive tape, and plant extracts. Its main ingredients include iron powder, salt, carbon powder, Radix Aconiti (Chuanwu), Chuanxiong, Angelica pubescens (Duhuo), Cinnamomi Ramulus (Guizhi), Chaenomeles (Mugua), Homalomena occulta (Qiannianjian), Herba Spilanthes (Shenjinc'ao), Sanguis Draconis (Xuejie), Pangolin scale (Chuanshanjia), and Scorpion (Quanxie). The patch primarily functions to warm the uterus, dispel cold, promote blood circulation, and resolve blood stasis. For patients with heavy menstrual bleeding, Wangong Bao may have certain side effects, as it could further increase menstrual flow, potentially leading to anemia and associated symptoms such as dizziness and fatigue. Therefore, such individuals are advised not to use this product during menstruation. However, for patients suffering from dysmenorrhea or menstrual clots caused by cold uterus and blood stasis, using Wangong Bao is generally safe without side effects and can actually help alleviate discomfort such as menstrual pain.
Wangong Bao has no side effects when used by healthy individuals, but it is contraindicated for pregnant women. It is important to monitor for any signs of allergic reactions during use.
