Can esophageal tumors be eliminated by taking traditional Chinese medicine?
Esophageal tumors generally refer to esophageal cancer. Esophageal tumors usually cannot be eliminated by taking traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) alone. Although certain Chinese herbal medicines can be used in the treatment of esophageal cancer—helping to kill cancer cells and inhibit tumor progression—esophageal cancer cannot be completely cured by TCM alone.
Esophageal cancer refers to benign or malignant tumors occurring at different layers of the esophagus. Its development may be associated with factors such as genetic susceptibility, malnutrition, chronic inflammatory stimulation, and unhealthy lifestyle habits. Early-stage esophageal cancer often presents no obvious symptoms. As the disease progresses, symptoms such as hoarseness, weight loss, difficulty swallowing, hematemesis (vomiting blood), and black stools may appear. Using TCM in treating esophageal cancer can enhance immune function, help manage postoperative complications, and reduce adverse effects caused by radiotherapy or chemotherapy. However, TCM only serves as an adjunctive therapy and cannot eliminate esophageal cancer.
Patients are advised to maintain a balanced and nutritious diet, develop regular and scientifically sound daily routines, engage in appropriate physical exercise, and undergo regular follow-up examinations, all of which can support the treatment of esophageal tumors.
