Introduction
Multiple gallbladder stones do not necessarily require surgical treatment; the decision for surgery mainly depends on clinical manifestations, as well as the size, shape, and function of the gallbladder. Patients are advised to follow their doctor's guidance, use medication appropriately, and undergo regular follow-up examinations, so as to monitor the condition timely and adjust the treatment plan according to disease progression.

Generally, multiple gallbladder stones do not necessarily require surgical treatment. The decision for surgery primarily depends on clinical manifestations, as well as the size, shape, and function of the gallbladder.

Multiple gallbladder stones may occur singly or in multiples, and the symptoms they cause vary among individuals. A small number of patients with multiple gallbladder stones may be asymptomatic or experience only mild symptoms. If a patient has no clinical symptoms and the gallbladder's size, shape, and function remain normal, surgery may not be necessary. In such cases, management may include dietary control and, under medical supervision, medications such as ursodeoxycholic acid tablets or amoxicillin-clavulanate potassium tablets.

However, most patients with multiple gallbladder stones do require surgery. The greater the number of stones, the more likely they are to cause gallbladder inflammation and increase gallbladder wall thickness, potentially leading to serious complications, including an increased risk of cancer. Therefore, early surgical removal is generally recommended.

Patients are advised to maintain a positive mindset after surgery, engage in appropriate physical activity, and avoid unhealthy lifestyle habits. Under a doctor’s guidance, they should use medications appropriately and undergo regular follow-up examinations to monitor their condition closely and adjust the treatment plan according to any changes.
