Introduction
Grilled sausages are high in calories and may contain trans fatty acids, which can easily lead to weight gain when consumed regularly. Due to their high salt content, if stored for long periods or repeatedly heated, the sodium salts in them can convert into nitrites, potentially causing nitrite poisoning. Moreover, because of the high levels of food additives and fat, they can place excessive digestive burden on the body and irritate the gastrointestinal mucosa, increasing the risk of gastrointestinal diseases.

The potential harms of grilled sausages are relatively common and include weight gain, nitrite poisoning, and the induction of gastrointestinal diseases.

1. Weight gain

Grilled sausages are high-calorie foods and often contain numerous additives, possibly including trans fatty acids. Long-term consumption may easily lead to weight gain and obesity, increasing the risk of coronary atherosclerosis.

2. Nitrite poisoning

Due to their high salt content, prolonged storage or repeated heating can cause sodium salts in grilled sausages to convert into nitrites, potentially leading to nitrite poisoning, which may result in vomiting, diarrhea, or even death.

3. Induction of gastrointestinal diseases

Because of their high levels of food additives and fat, grilled sausages can place excessive digestive burden on the gastrointestinal tract and irritate the gastrointestinal mucosa, thereby triggering gastrointestinal diseases such as acute gastroenteritis and duodenal ulcers.

In addition, regular consumption may increase the risk of carcinogenesis; therefore, it is advisable to eat little or none at all.
