Gastrointestinal flu refers to gastroenteric influenza, and its relief methods include general treatment and drug therapy, with drugs divided into Western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine treatments.

I. General Treatment

For patients with gastroenteric influenza who have fever or are elderly and physically weak, bed rest is recommended along with adequate fluid intake. In cases of high fever, physical cooling methods such as wiping the body with a wet towel may be used to help reduce body temperature.

II. Drug Therapy

1. Western Medicine Treatment

During the illness, anti-infective medications may be prescribed. Medications such as Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride Tablets, Lijunsha Tablets (Roxithromycin), and Roxithromycin Dispersible Tablets can effectively provide antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects under medical guidance, aiding recovery.

2. Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment

Depending on the patient's condition, consultation with a physician regarding the use of traditional Chinese medicine is recommended. Examples include Huoxiang Zhengqi Oral Liquid, Simo Tang Oral Liquid, and Compound Berberine Tablets. Early administration of these medicines can achieve therapeutic effects such as relieving exterior symptoms, resolving dampness, regulating qi, and harmonizing the stomach, thereby alleviating symptoms like abdominal distension and pain, vomiting, and diarrhea to a certain extent.

In addition to the above-mentioned approaches, treatments such as acupuncture and other traditional Chinese medicine therapies may also be considered. It is also important to maintain proper daily dietary control by consuming foods rich in dietary fiber and plant-based proteins.
