Causes and Treatment of Female Infertility
Female infertility may be caused by endocrine disorders, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), chronic salpingitis, etc., and is generally treatable with medications or surgical interventions. Specific analyses are as follows:
1. Endocrine Disorders
Endocrine imbalances in women can lead to ovulation disorders, thereby causing infertility. Treatment may include medications such as progesterone capsules, methimazole tablets, or propylthiouracil tablets, taken as directed by a physician.
2. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
Due to infrequent or absent ovulation, sperm and egg cannot unite to form a fertilized egg, leading to symptoms of female infertility. Medications such as ethinyl estradiol cyproterone acetate tablets, compound norethisterone tablets, or dexamethasone tablets may be prescribed under medical guidance.
3. Chronic Salpingitis
Chronic salpingitis causes damage to the fallopian tube mucosa, potentially resulting in complete tubal obstruction and thus leading to female infertility. This condition can be treated surgically via procedures such as salpingostomy.
In addition to the above causes, Sheehan's syndrome may also lead to female infertility. It is advisable to avoid exposure to radiation, high-temperature work environments, smoking, and alcohol consumption in daily life.
