Can you sleep on your side after a cesarean section?
Cesarean section refers to a surgical delivery method. After a cesarean section, it is generally safe to sleep on one's side, which has little to no adverse effect on the body.
After undergoing a cesarean section, adequate rest is necessary. During rest, positions can be changed freely—sleeping on the side or lying supine are both acceptable. However, one should avoid maintaining the same position for prolonged periods. Regularly changing body positions helps promote gastrointestinal motility, aids digestion, and reduces the risk of intestinal adhesions.
Sufficient sleep is essential after a cesarean section. Staying up late or overexertion may reduce immunity and impair recovery. If significant discomfort occurs, prompt medical attention is recommended.
