Introduction
Postoperative thrombocytopenia may be caused by excessive platelet consumption, reduced platelet production, infection, or other factors. For example, medications such as penicillin V potassium tablets or amoxicillin capsules may be selected under a doctor's guidance, or platelet transfusion may be administered as directed by a physician. In addition, chemotherapy drugs used after tumor surgery may also lead to decreased platelet counts.

Postoperative thrombocytopenia may be caused by excessive platelet consumption, reduced platelet production, infection, or other factors.

1. Excessive Platelet Consumption

Surgery may result in significant blood loss. Prolonged bleeding can lead to a marked decrease in platelet count. If bleeding continues after surgery, platelets may be continuously consumed, resulting in thrombocytopenia. Adequate rest is generally recommended, and if bleeding occurs, the underlying cause should be identified and treated accordingly.

2. Reduced Platelet Production

After surgery, the body's immunity may be weakened due to poor physical condition, and bone marrow function for blood cell production may decline, leading to decreased platelet synthesis. In severe cases, platelet transfusion may be considered under a physician’s guidance.

3. Infection

Poor postoperative care may lead to infections such as pulmonary or abdominal infections, which can cause a drop in platelet count. These infections can be treated with anti-infective medications, such as penicillin V potassium tablets or amoxicillin capsules, as directed by a physician.

Besides, chemotherapy drugs used after tumor surgery may also lead to decreased platelet counts.
