Introduction
For children with cough and phlegm, moxibustion at the acupoints Dazhui (GV14), Feishu (BL13), and Shangwan (CV10) is recommended. The Dazhui point is located in the depression below the spinous process of the 7th cervical vertebra. This acupoint is a key point on the back, effective in relieving symptoms such as cold-induced fever, cough, and coldness in the back. It not only provides local treatment but also has a significant regulatory effect on the body's overall qi and blood.

For children with cough and phlegm, moxibustion at the Dazhui (GV14), Feishu (BL13), and Shangwan (CV21) acupoints is recommended.

1. Dazhui (GV14)

The Dazhui point is located in the depression below the spinous process of the 7th cervical vertebra. This acupoint is one of the more important points on the back and helps relieve symptoms such as chills, fever, cough, and coldness in the upper back. It not only provides local treatment but also has a strong regulatory effect on the body's overall qi and blood circulation.

2. Feishu (BL13)

The Feishu point is located below the spinous process of the 3rd thoracic vertebra, 1.5 cun lateral to the midline. Moxibustion at this point helps eliminate pathogens, promote health, and dispel wind and cold. Its primary function includes preventing lung-related conditions such as cough and asthma. Applying moxibustion here can help clear the lungs, stop coughing, nourish yin, and strengthen qi, making it particularly beneficial for children suffering from cough with phlegm.

3. Shangwan (CV21)

This point is located on the upper abdomen along the anterior midline, five cun above the navel. Moxibustion at this point effectively relieves pain and warms the middle jiao to dispel cold. It is also an important acupoint that not only helps suppress cough but also regulates the gastrointestinal digestive system.

In addition to the above, moxibustion at the Zhongwan (CV12) point may also be helpful. It is recommended to ensure good indoor ventilation during moxibustion to prevent smoke irritation to the respiratory tract, which could worsen cough symptoms. Additionally, maintaining warmth, dressing appropriately, drinking plenty of water, and promoting metabolism can assist in expelling cold pathogens from the body.
