Introduction
A child is considered to have a fever when their ear temperature exceeds 37.5°C. Children's thermoregulatory centers are not yet fully developed, and they have lower body fat, making them more susceptible to external temperature changes. Additionally, due to their growth and development, children have a higher metabolic rate than adults, resulting in slightly higher body temperatures, typically ranging between 36.2°C and 37.5°C.

Children's thermoregulatory centers are not yet fully developed, and they have lower body fat content, making them more susceptible to external temperature changes. Additionally, due to ongoing physical development, their metabolic rate is higher than that of adults, which results in a naturally higher body temperature, typically ranging between 36.2°C and 37.5°C. When a child's ear temperature rises above 37.5°C, it indicates a fever. In such cases, you can use lukewarm water to wipe areas rich in blood vessels, such as the armpits and groin, to promote heat dissipation through evaporation and achieve physical cooling. It is also important to adjust clothing appropriately to avoid interfering with the body’s natural heat release. However, if the temperature continues to rise above 38.1°C, the situation becomes more serious, and immediate medical attention should be sought for proper fever management.

Since children are still growing and developing, medications should never be administered without medical guidance during a fever, as the active ingredients may increase gastrointestinal burden and negatively affect their health.
