Introduction
Head and ear ringing caused by "internal heat" may result from excessive liver fire, phlegm-fire stagnation, or deficiency-related fire, requiring targeted treatment. Excessive liver fire often leads to hyperactivity of liver yang, thereby causing symptoms of head and ear ringing associated with "internal heat." In such cases, treatment under medical guidance may include traditional Chinese medicines such as Long Dan Xie Gan Wan, Huang Lian Shang Qing Pian, or Shu Gan San.

Head and ear ringing caused by "internal heat" may result from excessive liver fire, phlegm-fire stagnation, or deficient fire, requiring targeted treatments accordingly.

1. Excessive Liver Fire

Excessive liver fire often leads to hyperactivity of liver yang, causing symptoms of head and ear ringing associated with "internal heat." Under medical guidance, patients may take traditional Chinese medicines such as Long Dan Xie Gan Wan, Huang Lian Shang Qing Pian, or Shu Gan San for treatment.

2. Phlegm-Fire Stagnation

Phlegm-fire stagnation may be triggered by excessive mental stress, and prolonged stagnation can lead to these symptoms. Under medical supervision, medications such as Yue Ju Er Chen Wan, Ju Ban Zhi Zhu Wan, or Shen Ling Bai Zhu San may be prescribed for treatment.

3. Kidney Yin Deficiency

In patients with kidney yin deficiency, depletion of kidney yin causes liver yang to transform into fire, resulting in these symptoms. This condition is often accompanied by night sweats, irritability, insomnia, dizziness, and other manifestations. Under medical guidance, treatments may include Liu Wei Di Huang Wan, Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan, or Qi Ju Di Huang Wan.

In addition, invasion of wind-heat may also trigger head and ear ringing due to "internal heat." In such cases, patients should seek hospital care where adjunctive therapies like acupuncture may be administered under a physician's direction.
