Does uterine enlargement require treatment?
Whether patients with uterine hypertrophy require treatment should be determined based on the severity of their condition.
1. Not required
Uterine hypertrophy refers to a uniformly enlarged uterus. If the condition is mild and no symptoms are present—such as increased vaginal discharge, menstrual irregularities, anemia, or abnormalities in urination or defecation—treatment may not be necessary. However, it is recommended to maintain a healthy lifestyle by consuming more fresh vegetables and fruits and increasing physical activity to boost immunity.
2. Required
If the condition is severe and symptoms such as menstrual disorders, lower abdominal or back pain, anemia, or urinary or bowel dysfunction occur, treatment is usually necessary. Without timely intervention, these symptoms may worsen and could lead to various complications, including uterine sarcoma or adenomyosis.
Patients undergoing treatment are advised to have regular follow-up examinations to assess their recovery progress.
