Introduction
Urinary occult blood may be caused by bacterial infection leading to cystitis, in which inflammation irritates the bladder mucosa, resulting in red blood cell leakage or blood vessel rupture. It could also occur when a patient has kidney stones; the stones rub against the renal mucosa, causing mucosal damage and bleeding. Additionally, it may be due to systemic lupus erythematosus nephritis, in which glomerular injury allows red blood cells to appear in the urine.

Blood in urine may be caused by conditions such as cystitis, kidney stones, or lupus nephritis. Detailed analysis is as follows:

1. Cystitis

This may result from a bacterial infection leading to cystitis. The inflammation irritates the bladder mucosa, causing congestion, swelling, and even erosion, which can lead to red blood cell leakage or rupture of blood vessels. Treatment may include medications such as levofloxacin capsules, ciprofloxacin hydrochloride tablets, or norfloxacin capsules, taken under medical guidance.

2. Kidney Stones

The presence of kidney stones may cause friction against the renal mucosa, resulting in mucosal damage and bleeding. When blood mixes with urine, it leads to the appearance of occult blood in urine. Treatment may involve using herbal medications such as Jinqiancao granules, Pashi granules, or Nishitong pills, as directed by a physician.

3. Lupus Nephritis

In patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, the disease may affect the kidneys and damage the glomeruli, allowing red blood cells to enter the urine and cause hematuria. Treatment options under medical advice may include Nephritis Recovery tablets, Jinshuibao capsules, or azathioprine tablets.

In addition, it could also be caused by ureteral cancer. It is recommended to seek timely medical evaluation to determine the exact cause and receive appropriate treatment.
