The fallopian tubes are a pair of slender, curved muscular ducts in the female body. They are primarily located within the pelvic cavity on either side of the uterine cornua, one on each side, and are enclosed within the upper border of the broad ligament of the uterus. The fallopian tubes play a crucial role in normal conception. Their main functions include transporting ova and sperm, facilitating fertilization by allowing sperm and egg to unite within the tube, and then conveying the resulting zygote into the uterine cavity.
