Introduction
Lower back pain after hysteroscopic surgery may be a normal phenomenon, as hysteroscopy is an invasive procedure that causes physical trauma. Thus, temporary symptoms such as lower back ache or discomfort may occur shortly after the operation. It could also result from inadequate postoperative care, leading to pelvic inflammatory infection and subsequent back pain due to inflammatory stimulation. Additionally, patients with pre-existing lumbar disc herniation may experience worsened symptoms and associated back pain following surgery.

Lower back soreness after hysteroscopic surgery may be a normal phenomenon, or it could indicate a pathological condition, such as pelvic inflammatory disease or lumbar disc herniation. The specific analysis is as follows:

1. Normal Phenomenon

Hysteroscopy is an invasive procedure that causes some degree of physical trauma. Therefore, mild lower back soreness or pain may occur temporarily after the surgery. This is considered normal and typically improves gradually as the body recovers.

2. Pathological Conditions

1) Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)

If proper postoperative care is not taken, the pelvic organs may become infected by inflammation, leading to lower back soreness due to inflammatory stimulation. This is often accompanied by symptoms such as abdominal pain, increased vaginal discharge, and foul odor. It is recommended to take antibiotics such as cefixime capsules, cephalexin capsules, or amoxicillin capsules under a doctor's guidance to control the infection and relieve symptoms.

2) Lumbar Disc Herniation

In patients with pre-existing lumbar disc herniation, symptoms may worsen after hysteroscopic surgery, resulting in significant lower back soreness and pain. Under medical supervision, anti-inflammatory and analgesic medications such as diclofenac sodium sustained-release tablets, ibuprofen sustained-release capsules, or acetaminophen tablets may be used to reduce pain and improve symptoms.

After hysteroscopic surgery, proper care is essential. Patients should get adequate rest, avoid overexertion, and refrain from sexual intercourse for a short period. Any persistent or worsening discomfort should be promptly evaluated by a healthcare provider.
